In Outlander’s 18th-century timeline where the majority of the proceedings take place, there were hardly any stable societies. As such, plenty of conflicts developed, with different groups all doing their best to ensure their survival. This resulted in the emergence of several ill-intentioned characters.
During their stays in Scotland, France, and America, Claire and Jamie encountered all sorts of villains. Among them, a few turned out to be greater threats, either because they committed heinous acts or because they had all the wrong intentions. Foes like Laoghaire MacKenzie, Stephen Bonnet, and Black Jack Randall, Jamie and Claire had a lot to contend with in Outlander.
10.Lionel Brown

Lionel Brown never had sensible motives or any form of ambition like many other villains in Outlander. Nonetheless, he was a constant nuisance. Among other things, the petty and misogynistic landowner took issue with Claire because she had offered his wife family planning advice. His animosity soon grew to the point where he raided Fraser’s Ridge.
Brown’s purpose was simply to cause anguish, and he achieved this by assaulting Claire, shooting Isiah, and causing terror in his own household. Like a proper villain should, Brown also had a team of goons who aided him in carrying out his malicious acts. His death would ultimately come at the hands of Marsali, leaving both viewers and the Fraser clan relieved.
9.Laoghaire MacKenzie

Laoghaire benefited from strong character development as she was initially only a Castle Leoch maiden who crushed on Jamie. Slowly, she became malevolent, and her only aim was to get rid of Claire so that she could have Jamie for herself.
Laoghaire was one of the persistent villains in Outlander. She never wavered in her quest to get Jamie and almost eliminated Claire twice – first during the witch trials and then during the shooting incident. Most importantly, she actually ended up getting Jamie for herself, though their union was short-lived and full of misery.
8.Duke Of Sandringham

Enemies who masquerade as friends are always the worst kind, which is exactly what the Duke of Sandringham did. The character made Jamie believe that he had his best interests at heart but was actually allying with Black Jack. Although he was an interesting character, as he was based on a number of 18th and 19th-century politicians, he was incredibly fearsome.
The Duke of Sandringham appeared shy and never got his hands dirty, so people often underestimated and rarely suspected him. When he ordered an attack on Claire and his own goddaughter, it took a while for everyone to put the pieces together. His mischief eventually caught up with him when Mutargh chopped his head off.
7.Richard Brown

Richard was generally calmer than his brother, but he still found ways to antagonize both the Frasers and his own men. His attempt to kill his colleague during the Battle of Alamance was shocking, and so was his decision to destroy Claire’s medicine to prevent her from treating him.
Though he never did any major harm to Jamie or Claire, Richard remained detestable by promising doom. Overall, he posed more of a psychological threat than a physical one. Whenever he appeared in Outlander, there was always the feeling that danger loomed. No one ever properly dealt with him, so he and his friends kept giving the protagonist something to worry about.
6.Gerald Forbes

Forbes posed no physical threat, but he was never short of ideas on how to harm others. The Cross Creek lawyer knew how to form alliances that benefited him, and when things didn’t work out, he was quick to backstab others.
From attempting to steal River Run from Jocasta to trying to get engaged to Brianna without her consent, Forbes kept engaging in one villainous action after the other. To the amoral character, there was nothing wrong with his actions. This attitude thankfully led to his demise at the hands of Ulysses.
5.Comte St. Germain

For Comte, it took some time before Outlander revealed his evil side. In his early scenes, he appeared like an ally to some beloved Outlander characters, including Jamie and Claire, but he slowly turned vengeful and rancorous because the latter had destroyed his cargo.
Though Claire clearly explained that she did it to prevent Smallpox from spreading, Comte turned a blind eye to logic and poisoned her while she was pregnant. Rather than show remorse, he continued to scheme and lie while mostly avoiding any kind of physical altercations. He was easily the slimiest of all the Outlander villains.
4.Governor Tyron

Governor Tyron enjoyed using people and dissociated himself from them when he could no longer extract enough benefits from them. This is exactly how he treated both Jamie and Claire during his time in Outlander. Tyron saw no problem in overspending when the colonists were complaining about excessive taxes.
Tyron unapologetically built a palace and held lavish parties while totally ignoring what he termed as “noise.” Even more impressive was his sense of caution. He was a great military strategist, something that enabled him to easily get a victory against the Regulators in the Battle of Alamance.
3.Geillis Duncan

Many other Outlander villains showed their true colors from the start, but through charm and intelligence, Geillis portrayed herself as a decent person who believed in the Jacobite cause. She even saved Claire during the witch trials. However, as the series progressed, it became clear that she wasn’t who many people thought she was.
Soon, it became clear that Geillis was a misandrist. A true black widow, she murdered each of her husbands to either inherit their wealth or use them as sacrifices. Masked under Geillis’ smiling face was also a deep desire to harm others. Outlander implied that Ian wasn’t the only young boy she had assaulted. Her list of evil actions would have definitely been longer if Claire hadn’t intervened and hacked her to death.
2.Stephen Bonnet

After Black Jack’s death, a huge void was left when it came to baddies. Thankfully, Stephen Bonnet managed to fill it. Whether it was robbing Jamie’s shop, killing an innocent child to prevent the spread of Smallpox, or lying his way through every situation, the pirate never ceased to exhibit his lack of morals.
Unlike other villains, Bonnet was more obsessed with Brianna than with Jamie and Claire, figuring he could create the kind of bond that many of the best Outlander couples shared. That didn’t happen; instead, viewers were served a heartbreaking story that revolved around assault, trauma, and parenting. Bonnet’s comeuppance also took much longer to come, granting him more time to cause havoc. When his death finally came, Brianna finally ended his wrath by shooting him in the head.
1.Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall

In Outlander, Black Jack caused more pain to Jamie than every other villain. Whether it was assaulting the Highlander or having him flogged publicly, the captain consistently made a case for himself as the show’s most despicable antagonist.
Black Jack’s task was to stop the Jacobite Rising, but he was more obsessed with Jamie and enjoyed tormenting him. Black Jack’s also had some of the most chilling remarks, going as far as to refer to Jamie’s bloody back as a work of art and narrating to Claire exactly how he tortured her lover. Black Jack delivered plenty of chilling remarks and committed heinous acts. Even after his death during the Battle of Culloden, the antagonist’s presence continued to be felt for the rest of Outlander.
