When filming Outlander’s series finale with his castmates came to an end earlier this year, Sam Heughan kept a memento to himself for times in the future when he wants to remember his beloved character.

The Scottish actor admitted to stealing something from the set during a recent interview with BBC’s The One Show. When co-host Alex Jones asked if Heughan was able to take the pair of boots that his character, Jamie Fraser, wore on the show, the 45-year-old initially seemed to be a bit uncertain about revealing that particular answer.

“I hope none of the execs are watching,” he quipped before coming clean. “Possibly, there might be a pair of Jamie’s boots standing in the corner,” he confessed.

Jones was quick to reassure Heughan, telling him, “I think you’re owed them by now,” given that Heughan and his character “are one now.”

“I absolutely agree,” Heughan said.

His Outlander co-star, Caitríona Balfe, also chimed in to suggest that few others would want the boots after the time Heughan has spent acting in them. “I mean, who else would want to wear your sweaty boots, anyway?” she pointed out.

“They might not be sweaty. I’d say it smells of Jamie,” Heughan countered. He then revealed that he does, in fact, “have a whole outfit of Jamie’s,” which he can revisit “if I ever miss him that much.”
