General Hospital’s Rory Gibson (Michael Corinthos) and Ryan Paevey (Cassius Faison) may not have been working together for long when Gibson was in the midst of planning his wedding to longtime love, Alicia Ruelas, but Paevey’s contribution to the nuptials was essential, heartfelt and unique.
Gibson’s Wonderful Wedding Ring
When Gibson said ‘I do’ to Ruelas overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii on July 11, the wedding ring his bride placed on his finger was designed and created by Paevey, who recently left GH again after a nine-month return stint. In addition to his acting work, Paevey owns his own jewelry design business, Fortunate Wanderer. As he explained in an Instagram video, a simple chat on life outside work led to Paevey creating Gibson’s ring.
“I [said] I work in my shop, I make things with my hands, I make jewelry,” Paevey explained. “And he said that he was getting married and was in the market for a wedding band, and I just kinda casually threw it in there. I wasn’t trying to generate business. We just kinda became buddies, and I was like, ‘I only work in silver, really, but I’ll make you a band if you just need a band,’ and I was really touched and honored that Rory would ask me to make his wedding band.”
Paevey went on to detail the type of band he made, while his video illustrated the process with a shot of Gibson modeling the finished product.
“We kinda just settled on this really simple design of a good, hardy, hammered band and I made it,” Paevey said. “And I was really honored to make it. I think stuff like that is my favorite stuff to make. It’s not an overly complicated thing that I made, but it has meaning behind it.”
Gibson and Ruelas’ small Hawaiian ceremony was followed by a larger wedding celebration in Los Angeles five days later, per People, with the groom’s friends and co-stars in attendance.
