Pamela Anderson has broken her silence on whether her on-screen relationship with Liam Neeson translated to real life.
The 58-year-old and 73-year-old Hollywood stars sparked romance rumors for weeks while promoting their recent film, Naked Gun. At the time, the pair remained quiet about whether their apparent off-screen chemistry had developed into something more, but insiders claimed it was part of a coordinated publicity effort for the film. Tons of fans who had begun praising the alleged romance were upset.
Months after fans felt “betrayed” by the apparent plot twist, they’ve finally got confirmation on whether a romance actually occurred. Anderson has now set the record straight. She and Neeson were “romantically involved” for a brief period, but only after the pair finished filming Naked Gun. It comes after Pamela gushed over her ‘chemistry’ with co-star Liam.
“If you must know,” Anderson revealed in a new interview with People, “Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming.” The star added that she and the Taken actor spent an “intimate week” together at his upstate New York home.
However, she clarified, “I had my own room. Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.” During their “lost week,” as The Last Showgirl star dubbed it, the pair spent time going out to dinner together, where Neeson introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.”

The couple also worked in Neeson’s garden, where they were even visited by a bear while eating breakfast together. Anderson said the actor had to chase the bear away while still in his bathrobe. “We were having fun,” she said.
The actress added that the visit felt “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film. I was always laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.'”
However, after their week together, Anderson said they went their separate ways to work on different projects. Still, the star said she “adores” Neeson. She added, “But we are better friends, in full honesty. He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
Neeson has remained silent about the rumors swirling between him and his co-star. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Anderson has dismissed the suggestion that she and the actor played up their chemistry to promote their movie.

“I do not and will never feed into PR stunts,” she said onstage at the Deauville American Film Festival in France on Sept. 5, per People. “That would be a death sentence. I’m authentically driven. I’m superstitious when it comes to love. And I’m not comfortable sharing any shred of my romantic life.”
She added, “I know I’ll fall in love again and again onscreen. That is my job. If we do it well, you will feel it, a kind of projection. It is the greatest compliment. So please think positively. And I appreciate your good wishes. There are no silly games being played. I’m sincere.”
Fans felt “betrayed” and confused when an exclusive report on Rob Shuter’s Substack claimed Anderson and Neeson hadn’t broken up — they were never together in the first place. According to Shuter, the pair’s flirtatious red-carpet moments were part of a coordinated publicity effort for The Naked Gun.
Insiders connected to the film told Shuter that Anderson and Neeson’s “romance” was a facade to boost ticket sales. Fans voiced their rage about the development. One angry fan, who clearly shipped the pair, created a Reddit board called “Betrayal: Pamela Anderson and Liam Were Never Together,” on which other fans voiced their opinions.

Underneath a photo of Neeson and Anderson on the red carpet, the original poster wrote, “It was a PR stunt. We should have known.” In the comments section, one person added the insider’s comments to Shuter, which read, “Their chemistry was real on camera, but off? It was strictly business. Pamela Anderson is a pro, Liam Neeson is a pro — they knew leaning into the rumors would get attention.”
Underneath, the person wrote, “I can’t believe it, how dare they break our hearts!!” A second added, “I’ll admit it – I was all in. I’m disappointed because I just love the idea of two older people finding each other and having a connection (eg, Meryl Streep & Martin Short). It just feels cruel.”
A third raged, “God I don’t ask for much,” as a fourth fumed, “Damn, weren’t people cheering for him because he’d finally found love again after his wife passed?” Neeson’s wife, Natasha Richardson, tragically died at the age of 45 due to a severe brain injury sustained in a skiing accident. The couple had been married for 15 years and had two sons, Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28.
In reply, another person wrote, “I was rooting for it for that reason, plus I was glad for her that she’d finally found a guy who wasn’t a skeevy dirtbag.” Yet another said, “I don’t care what people say. This is plain f—— weird. There’s pretending to be flirty but saying ‘I’m madly in love with her’ is diabolical. LOL. IM MAD.”
