Outlander Season 8 fans will rejoice as unique opportunity to explain a tragic death storyline presents itself

TV fans are used to the plot twists and turns in Outlander and Season 8 is set to have them on the edge of their seats as a ‘death scene’ is played out.

Outlander Season 8 has the unique opportunity to explain a key character’s ‘death’ as it can be told through Claire’s perspective. Indeed, Jamie’s ‘death’ could be far less confusing as fans get get to see the story told through Claire Fraser, played by Belfast actress Caitriona Balfe’s eyes.

In the Outlander book Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, Jamie heads off for battle again, but this time around, his luck has worn off. Jamie falls on the battlefield and is believed to be dead, leading Claire to head out in search of his body. Still critics are hopeful about the potential for the storytelling.

Screenrant.com writes: “It’s a devastating sequence of events, and by the time Claire finds Jamie, she is overcome with desperation and grief – ultimately leading to a miraculous resurrection.

This all plays out from Claire’s point of view, which means readers get the full benefit of her inner dialogue. This is something won’t have, but in this case, that may be a good thing.”

It’s fair to say savvy show bosses will be on hand to make sure it runs smoothly, and probably without fans even knowing the lengths they go to to achieve this.

Outlander is famed for its incredible time travel, but when something went wrong with one of lead actor Claire Fraser’s scenes after they had wrapped up filming, Outlander bigwigs sprung into action.

In one particular instance during the show’s second season, producers felt compelled to adjust a scene involving Claire Fraser’s mystical rings, they had to make changes post-production before eagle-eyed fans spotted the mistake.

On the Outlander podcast, executive producer Ronald D. Moore divulged: “At the very beginning – way back at Craigh na Dun, her discovering that she lost the ring and trying to find the ring, and then realizing the stone of the ring was gone – that was something we added much later in the process, well after the show was done for various story reasons of time travel that we needed to establish – that you will discover later.”
