Since season seven of Outlander ended last year, fans have been looking to get their fix by watching the whole series from the start.
And it’s interesting as followers take to various forums to discuss different things they spot, with one taking to Reddit to start a conversation about Roger Mackenzie, played by Richard Rankin, in the earlier seasons, which many said bosses ‘did him dirty’.
Roger’s story was full of chaos after living a relatively normal life until his dad died and he met Brianna at the funeral which resulted in him travelling back in time 200 years and everything else in between.
One fan started a thread and wrote: “What must be going through Roger’s head while this is all unfolding.
“Here he is, just having put on the funeral for his (basically) father, meets a pretty girl and a women he doesn’t remember at said funeral, offers to host them because he’s into pretty girl, goes on date with pretty girl and somehow finds himself in the middle of the Fraser family magical meltdown the same week he’s buried his father.”
They added: “Obviously we know fate has him far more involved in the story than it first appears, but still… imagine what’s going on in his head during this! I’ve had my fair share of Roger hate throughout the series, but somehow this is the first time I’ve considered these scenes from his perspective lol.

“Anyway, that’s it. Random thoughts I needed to share with someone else who knows the series..”
And many fans agreed, with one saying: “Yeah, the show did Roger dirty in Seasons 3 and 4. They’ve been trying to rehabilitate him ever since.”
While one said: “I always thought Roger had a helluva lot to handle, he was living the quiet life then he’s catapulted into something he could never have imagined. I just don’t get the hate for Roger, it’s quite mean.”
Another said: “Let’s not forget, if it wasn’t for Roger’s curiosity, Claire might never have found out about Jamie surviving.”
And one commented: “What I like about Roger in Season/Book 2 is that the historian in him just takes over and he is fascinated by everything. To me, it’s a parallel to Frank’s disbelief of Claire. Of course, I’m not sure I would have wanted to believe her either.”
As we have previously reported, Richard Rankin was born in Rutherglen in 1983, Richard was one of four boys with a dad who worked in the police force and a mum in the hotel industry.
Even as a youngster, Richard had dreamed of stardom, pretending he was Robocop and doing a Michael Jackson concert in the school playground that went terribly wrong.
He told Glasgow Times: “I had bought smoke bombs.
“I’m not quite sure how I thought logistically I was going to have all these pyrotechnics going off.
“But obviously in a young boy’s head there is lights, smoke and a full concert atmosphere.
“I managed to sell three tickets. It turned out an utter disaster and I split my head open trying to do a backflip off a pillar as my finale. The smoke bombs didn’t work either.”
The star is known for sketches in Burnistoun as well as the BBC Rebus reboot.
