Time-travelling drama Outlander fans will remember how devastating it was when Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) sent Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) back through the stones in order to save their child. Of course, Claire did eventually reunite with her love but did Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) know all along this was going to happen and not tell her?
Did Frank know Claire was destined to reunite with Jamie?
When Claire returned to her the 20th century pregnant with Jamie’s child, she reunited with her husband Frank in Boston.
The pair fell into an unhappy marriage which was only intensified when Claire pulled away from him and Frank began to have an affair.
However, fans will remember how Claire did not travel back to the 1700s until the 1960s after Frank had died.
She found out he was still alive and was encouraged by her daughter Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) to go and find him.

However, some fans have pointed out how Frank might have always known this was going to happen.
As viewers will remember, following Claire’s return to the present day, Frank did some research into Jamie.
He never allowed Claire to find out what he saw but there was a hint he knew what was going to happen.
This came in the season four episode Down the Rabbit Hole, when Brianna travelled to the past to warn her mother.

This was because she had found an obituary seemingly proving Jamie and Claire would die in a fire.
However, in a flashback, viewers saw how Frank had already been studying these very papers many years earlier.
He had received them through from a colleague in Scotland and had learned about the obituary.
This proved how Jamie and Claire had both died in the fire, which means Frank must have known Claire would return to her Scottish love.
