What happens in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 23 trailer?

The Grey’s Anatomy Season 23 trailer highlights the show’s complicated romantic relationships. The clip shows Ben Warren telling Winston Ndugu to “come clean and get ahead of it,” after learning about Winston’s relationship with Jules Millin. It also highlights the complicated relationship between Amelia, Toni, and Cass.

The trailer also introduces Dr. Seth Norton, a new character played by James Wolk. Catherine Fox (Debbie Allen) introduces Meredith to Dr. Norton, who asks Meredith to lend her expertise to the hospital’s new area. The VIP floor is a new luxury wing at Grey Sloan, which Catherine introduces by declaring, “Welcome to paradise!”

The tension escalates when Atticus “Link” Lincoln asks his wife, Jo Wilson, where his tramadol prescription is. He began taking the medication after injuring his shoulder in the bridge collapse depicted in the Season 22 finale.

The trailer also teases a major runway collision. The season premiere centers on a collision at Sea-Tac that sends a surge of critically injured patients to Grey Sloan Memorial. The disaster recalls the Season 8 plane crash, one of the series’ most memorable tragedies.

Ellen Pompeo returns as Dr. Meredith Grey, the former head of general surgery, making recurring/lead appearances. She is joined by Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Jason George, Chris Carmack, Anthony Hill, Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Niko Terho, and Trevor Jackson.
