It’s certainly seemed like General Hospital has been on a casting spree lately, bringing in new faces, new characters and new recasts. And now it looks like we’re about to meet another General Hospital newbie, playing a recast tied to Jason!
Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) teased the newcomer on their That’s Awesome With Steve and Bradford podcast. And it all came about when Anderson was talking about how challenging being a recast is, “because the actor doesn’t know all that stuff that exists. Hasn’t experienced it, hasn’t felt it. And then the viewer doesn’t get that same feeling.”
And Burton had the perfect example of that. “There’s a guy on the show right now,” he explained, “and you guys will see him. He may have aired. I’m not sure, but I had some scenes with him and I can’t say what it is yet. But I said, ‘Do you know exactly what’s happening?’ Because his decision-making in the scene had to do with events that have happened in history with some characters, right?”
The Port Charles newbie said no, he didn’t really know what happened before “‘but I do create the backstory myself.’” As Burton went on to explain, “he’s been an actor for a long, long time. He’s been on some primetime shows. He’s done this a long time, right? So I said, ‘Do you mind if I just tell you what this is, who this is, why they’re doing it, and what the involvement for me is?’ And he goes, ‘No, I would love to.’”
And that’s certainly got us curious! Who would be a character Jason would interact with and be someone with whom he has history? And it’s likely a character who’s been mentioned quite a bit lately… If you’re thinking what we think you are, you aren’t alone!
Because General Hospital fans got hold of this on X and they seemed to almost universally zero in on one character: Jax!
We can’t say we disagree! Josslyn just took over his company with a little pushing from the WSB. Hudson, meanwhile, is scheming to get her to drop it, and if we’re right about who he’s working with, Jerry Jacks is on his way back. So it would make a whole lot of sense if Josslyn’s father returned too!
Jax has been offscreen since Ingo Rademacher was let go back in 2021. And the show hasn’t made much mention of him since — at least until he disappeared on a boat and left his company to his daughter! All we know is that something shady is going on, and unless Jax is, somehow, dead, it feels inevitable that he has to show up at some point and confront this head on.

What are your thoughts? Is this new castmember playing a recast Jax or someone else?
