From Nevermore to a Galaxy Far, Far Away: Wednesday Fan-Favorite Joins Star Wars Franchise

When Star Wars: Visions returns to Disney+ in October, the animated series will feature a notable Wednesday cast member. The series first premiered on the streamer in 2021 and is an anthology of animated shorts that celebrates the mythology of Star Wars through different and unique cultural perspectives.

Netflix’s Wednesday just finished its Season 2 run, and now a fan-favorite character from the show is set to join Star Wars: Visions. Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday’s best friend and Nevermore Academy student, Enid Sinclair, on the hit series, will be featured voicing a character in Star Wars: Visions Season 3, according to The Direct via the official Star Wars website.

Myers, in addition to starring in Wednesday, also appeared in this year’s smash hit A Minecraft Movie. The upcoming Star Wars: Visions Season 3 will include brand-new anthology-style stories surrounding the Jedi, the Sith, and other iconic characters from the beloved franchise.

Myers will be featured in a Season 3 episode titled “The Smuggler,” which is directed by Masahiko Otsuka. The official logline for the episode teases that the show will revolve around a smuggler who is “desperate for a quick payday.” The character “takes a job to rescue a fugitive from the Empire,” which in essence teases the inclusion of some of Star Wars’ most notorious political antagonists.

Who Will Emma Myers Be Playing in Star Wars: Visions?

Visions-

Lucasfilm released a photo teasing her Visions character; however, specifics like the character’s name and role she will play were not revealed. Visions Season 3 will also feature Myers’ Wednesday co-star Steve Buscemi voicing a character, as well as Marvel’s Simu Liu and DC’s Karen Fukuhara. Jodi Turner-Smith will return to the Star Wars universe for Visions after playing Mother Aniseya in The Acolyte.

Visions is an animated anthology series developed for Disney+. Its first season featured anime-style animation, while Season 2 had various styles of animation from across the globe. Each episode is a self-contained narrative.

Wednesday Season 2 recently concluded its run on Netflix. In a previous interview, Myers said she was a bit uncertain about getting back into character for the second season, but that apprehension didn’t last long. “When we got to the table read, it immediately came back, like nothing had changed. I think I’ve lived with Enid for so long, it comes very naturally now. Also, there’s no harm in changing things up, because [Enid] has changed over the summer. She’s grown, and she’s become more comfortable with herself,” Myers said.

Wednesday Season 3 is set for 2026, but already an Uncle Fester-centered spinoff has been announced. Fred Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester on Wednesday, confirmed that he will be getting his own spinoff series in an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

“Yeah, we’re working on it…It’s fantastic…It’s amazing, Armisen revealed. Armisen was tight-lipped regarding any further details on the spin-off, and so far, no other actors have been announced for the show. Armisen has been a fan-favorite character on Wednesday since Season 1. The first two seasons of Wednesday are streaming on Netflix

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on Oct. 29.
