A first teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming A24 movie The Drama, starring Challengers’ Zendaya and The Batman‘s Robert Pattinson. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli, The Drama‘s plot is reportedly described as a couple’s relationship being tested days before their wedding when one discovers upsetting secrets about the other.
The Drama is slated for release on April 3, 2026, and its cast also includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates. The teaser focuses on Charlie (Pattinson) and Emma (Zendaya), making their way through a photography session that is clearly uncomfortable as the photographer asks them what they love about each other and tries to get Charlie to smile naturally.
The cutaways from Charlie and Emma getting pictures taken show her looking horrified, and him looking as if he has gotten caught, along with shots of what seems to be a very stressful and chaotic wedding day. But A24’s marketing maintains an ironically comedic vibe, “cordially inviting” potential audiences to “the wedding of the year,“ with plenty of drama promised.

It’s no secret that A24 has tapped two of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood for its next shot at a smash-hit romantic drama. A24 is a production company for Zendaya’s HBO show Euphoria, one of her career-defining roles. Since her Disney Channel days, she has also become known for her turn in the MCU and Luca Guadagnino’s electric sports thriller Challengers.
Pattinson was once the most famous heartthrob of the YA fantasy genre for Twilight, but his career has reached new heights through collaborations with some of the best directors in the industry on movies including Tenet, The Batman, Mickey 17, and Die My Love. Notably, Zendaya and Pattinson are set to co-star in two of the most anticipated movies of 2026.
Zendaya is portraying Athena and Pattinson Antinous in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, marking the former star’s first collaboration with the Oscar-winning director and the latter’s second after Tenet. Following this summer release, both actors will be in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part: Three, Zendaya returning as Chani and Pattinson introducing Scytale, releasing theatrically in December.
But first, they have to get through the wedding of the year. A24 had some excellent entries in 2025, with the likes of Materialists and Sorry, Baby, and it still has yet to release its biggest Oscar contender, Marty Supreme, on Christmas Day. The Drama will be one of the movies kicking off a new season in 2026, and the intriguing teaser and iconic stars raise expectations.
